Is your bathtub gunky and in desperate need of some TLC? Is it possible to clean a scummy, grungy tub with ease when you use only all-natural, green methods? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this post is for you!
There’s a perfect little secret to cleaning out a grimy bathtub easily. What’s that secret? Baking soda. Baking soda is a perfect, gentle, all-natural scrubbing agent that can make scrubbing the tub easier than ever before. And it’s safe for everyone in your home.
Baking Soda: the Magic Scrubbing Agent
Most of us are familiar with baking soda coming in those small, compact little boxes from the grocery store. Here’s a few tips for convenient use of baking soda!
Baking soda is a fairly cheap scrubbing agent. A little goes a long way, but it can get used pretty quickly in every cleaning. Baking soda comes in 12 lbs bags for around $9 in places like Walmart, Costco, or Home Depot. This is one of the thriftiest ways of procuring baking soda. If you do buy your baking soda in bulk, find a handy dispensing container for it. It can be something as simple as an old, plastic parmesan shaker. The holes in the top of the parmesan container are perfect for sprinkling baking soda while cleaning.
Scrubbing Your Tub
To get started on scrubbing out your grungy tub, gather a few supplies first!
*a scrubby
*an all natural cleaning spray
*baking soda
Generously spray down the tub with your all natural cleaner, and then sprinkle the baking soda into the tub. You should only need a little bit of baking soda (maybe 1/4th cup’s worth sprinkled into the bottom of the tub). If your tub is especially grimy, you might need more than this.
Work up the baking soda into the cleaning spray to get a paste with your scrubby. Once you’ve made this paste, scrub every inch of the tub. Start from the top and work your way to the bottom, and continue working around the tub (from left to right) until you’ve scrubbed everything.
Once you’ve completed this, rinse out the tub thoroughly. Don’t leave any of the paste behind or it’ll harden as it dries. Use your hands to feel the tub’s surface if you’re unsure if you’re leaving any of the paste behind.
Pretty simple, isn’t it? This little handy tip is one the pros use. And as always, if you need a professional cleaning to give your home a thorough cleaning, you can call our offices for your own, personalised quote!
